Weekly Pay! $24.00/Hour Shift Details: 8:00AM - 4:00PM DESCRIPTION The Lead Trauma Registrar is responsible for oversight of the trauma services clinical database (Trauma Registry). The Lead Trauma Registrar will be responsible for the oversight of data collection, data analysis, data entry, data completion and data validation of all patients meeting inclusion criteria into the hospital trauma registry on a daily basis. The incumbent will also ensure delivery of Trauma Center data to the American College of Surgeons (NTDB/TQIP), the Virginia Department of Health (Image Trend Registry), the HCA-EWTDC Trauma Registry, and internal Chippenham Hospital departments in order to maintain trauma center designation. The Lead Trauma Registrar will establish processes for data concurrency and data validation in order to ensure that the databases are not only current, but accurate. The Lead Trauma Registrar will monitor, motivate and assist in the training of the Trauma Registrar to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. The Lead Trauma Registrar should also maintain knowledge of all rules, regulations, laws, and guidelines that impact or govern the Trauma Registry and ensures that Chippenham Hospital is in compliance. This position reports to the Trauma Program Director. Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) within two (2) years of employment. Prefer Certified Abbreviated Injury Scaling Specialist (CAISS). Education: High School graduate required. Prefer a minimum of Associate Degree in health-related field or equivalent work experience of at least two years with a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis is preferred. Medical terminology is essential. American Trauma Society?s Trauma Register Course and the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine?s Abbreviated Injury Scaling Course are highly preferred. Experience: Previous Trauma Registry experience required. Report Writing experience highly preferred. Experience in trauma coding (AIS/ISS & ICD-10) is highly recommended. Proficiency in computers is essential. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Other Attributes Demonstrates strong analytical skills; strong communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize requests and assignments; self-directed with initiative to function independently as needed; computer skills in word processing; (Word, Excel, etc.) and data management. Degree of Supervision Required: Involves general guidance and direction by Coordinators, Managers, and/or Department Director. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Ages of Patients Served: This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience. |
