DESCRIPTION

The Production Machinist performs semi-repetitive specialized machine operations. Provides technical assistance to production associates, while following safety policy and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled CNC Machinist with experience in CNC programming, CNC Lathes and Milling machining processes, and quality standards. They should possess a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for success in this role.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interface with Manufacturing Engineers to fabricate and support production requirements.
Prioritize and coordinate jobs within tool shop
Ensure quality of finish and tolerances in machined components.
Program CNC Lathes and Mills using Mastercam Software
Set-up and execute complex CNC equipment in accordance with company policy and safety procedures
Installs, maintains, and operates a variety of machining tools including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, etc.
Diagnoses problems, disassembles, determines extent of repair necessary and/or feasibility of repairs, refits or replaces worn or defective parts and reassembles
Makes ordinary replacements of new parts and/or complete new assemblies and selects materials, plans and performs machining operations on new or replacement parts
Works to specifications, from both oral and written instructions, sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings and manuals with little supervision
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work overtime and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Adheres to and supports safety policy and procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is required.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience
Skills:
Experience in semi-repetitive specialized machine operations
Strong experience in CNC Lathe and 3-1/2 axis Milling machining tools
Computer skills in Mastercam and Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel required
Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances required
Ability to use hand tools and machinery
Able to follow instructions, sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings and manuals
Capable of problem-solving: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent
Effective oral and written communication
