JobsRUs.com is currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dietary Aide to join our client's culinary team in Lexington, VA! Full-time schedule, 30-40 hours/week. Position Summary: Maintains excellent service to residents through dining services. Identify individual goals in collaboration with the supervisor. Assist and maintain inventory levels with supervisor. Qualifications include: Enthusiastic worker which is able to make decisions, and take action in the resident?s best interest. Presents a professional appearance and is willing to work flexible schedule. Essential Functions: * Is proficient in preparing meals per tray tickets and proper portion size; is detail oriented and adheres to all allergy related issues to the residents. * Provides efficient service to residents and guests in the dining areas. * Ensure the sanitation of all areas of food service through organization of the skilled nursing kitchen and the equipment. Conforms to the requirements of the compliance program by understanding and adhering to Kendel?s Compliance Program and Policies as they appear in the Code of Conduct and compliance policies. Annually acknowledges review of the Code of Conduct by signature. Adheres to all HIPPA rules and regulations. Job Duties: The knowledge and skills required to successfully function in this job are: * Ability to maintain confidentiality of the residents at all times. * Ability to effectively communicate with residents and support staff in new programs and techniques. * Ability to provide proper portion controls to all residents per physician orders and dietary guidelines. * Provide an environment that is conducive to protecting the health and well- being of the residents, their rights, and staff while keeping open communications with the skilled living staff. * Knowledge to ensure the maintenance of food service equipment through proper use and care of this equipment. * Is proficient in Infection control and prevention as it relates to Dietary and the skilled nursing area. * Is proficient in identifying abuse, neglect and exploitation of residents and responds appropriately. * Demonstrates cultural competency and culture change with all residents and strives to meet their needs. * Participates in and is competent in disaster and emergency preparedness and drills. * Is well versed in person centered care, can speak, teach and demand the same from dining staff and incorporates this into the staff?s daily routine and dealings with residents * Attends and completes all mandatory training annually including dementia management and Heimlich training. * Protects residents? rights and facility responsibilities on a daily basis. Education and Experience: Must be detailed oriented and be able to communicate with all in the skilled nursing center. Must be able to read and comprehend the different meal textures while providing excellent service. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift weights of up to 60 pounds. May stand or walk most of the day. Must be able to tolerate sudden variations in temperatures. Must be able to move tables and vacuum large areas. Must be able to push food carts up to 100 lbs. Must be able to carry food trays up to 40 lbs. Must be able to bend to clean chairs and tables. Must be able to tend to trash weighing up to 60 lbs. Must be able to assist residents by pushing their chair in. Must be able to sweep and mop areas in the kitchen.
