Job Description: The Substation Projects Engineering department seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and innovative individual to join as estimator to support the Station Projects Manhattan/SI section. The selected estimator will be working on transmission and distribution construction projects in con Edison. Must recognize the importance of Commitment to Excellence and Rules We Live By, be able to provide exemplary customer service, demonstrate a high energy level, and able to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: To develop complex, multidiscipline conceptual, authorization and appropriation cost estimates for multidiscipline substation construction projects and transmission facilities based on scope of work, preliminary drawings and sketches. Flex Skills: The individual must have prior experience in developing electrical, mechanical and or civil cost estimates for substations and/or transmission projects. The candidate must be familiar with the engineering, design, and construction of substations and transmission facilities. An understanding of the capital budget process and utility economics in the preparation of authorization and appropriation estimates is preferred Computer proficiency is required including knowledge of Microsoft Project/Office and estimating computer applications and databases. Familiarity with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards is preferred. Soft Skills: Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills are essential. The right candidates must be self-motivated, resourceful and articulate. The individual will possess a "can-do" attitude, have a clear sense of accountability and understand what it takes to meet customers' needs |
