Our Hardware Organization seeks a Hardware Technician - Device Maintenance in our Engineering Program Coordination team. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our hardware devices through routine maintenance and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to hardware maintenance.This is an on-site contract position in our beautiful Oakland office.

Perform in-house test and routine maintenance of devices and components
Perform basic device maintenance such as firmware and software upgrades, battery maintenance, and battery replacement
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of hardware devices
Follow device security and secrecy practices
Participates in the maintenance of a clean, neat and organized, member-ready area; organizes inventory
Device Room backup - support device room activities

Skills:
The ability to work well in a team environment, demonstrating shared responsibility and accountability with other team members. Be curious and open to learning from others and helping each other grow
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Adaptability and flexibility
Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Problem solving skills
The ability to exert force and/or lift or carry items safely weighing twenty-five (25) to forty (40) pounds occasionally, and up to ten (10) pounds frequently.
Prior experience with device maintenance procedures
AS or applicable equivalent experience as a Device Specialist responsible for the maintenance or upgrade of electronics, Field Failure Analyst, Hardware Lab Technician, etc.

Education:
AS or applicable equivalent experience as a Device Specialist responsible for the maintenance or upgrade of electronics, Field Failure Analyst, Hardware Lab Technician, etc.
Preferred:
BS or equivalent experience
Familiarity with Build Matrices and Device Configurations##
