Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Buyer to perform sourcing and procurement activities for core commodities, including machining, turning, milling, and sheet metal fabrication. This role will work under normal supervision and will require the ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand design key criteria to successfully source parts with the correct supplier capabilities. Experience in outside processing is a plus. The Mechanical Buyer will negotiate long-term agreements, establish blanket orders based on best value analysis, and ensure quality and timely delivery at the lowest possible price. This position requires problem-solving, effective prioritization, and the ability to interact with internal customers in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
? Source and procure fabricated parts with low volume, high mix.
? Process requests for quotes and provide data for price justification.
? Interface with planning, receiving, shipping, quality, accounts payable, engineering, and program management to ensure on-time delivery.
? Maintain existing supplier relationships and develop new suppliers as needed.
? Review the status of open purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery, communicating exceptions to the planner, requester, and Purchasing Supervisor.
? Provide accurate and timely status reports upon request.
? Report significant changes in supplier status, including financial stability, delivery/quality performance, and pricing.
? Process authorized purchase requisitions within the required timeframe and communicate exceptions as needed.
? Coordinate and arrange for the processing of discrepant supplied items and material and make dispositions on rejected items.
? Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:
? US citizen or documents to work in the US required.
? Bachelor's degree required.
? 3+ years of procurement experience, ideally in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
? Experience with machining, turning, milling, sheet metal fabrication, and outside processing.
? Familiarity with UCC/FAR and DFAR requirements.
? Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, policies, and manufacturing processes.
? Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
? Must work independently as well as in a team setting.
? Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
