Job Posting: Commodity Manager Company: JobsRUs.com is hiring for our client Location: Devens, MA Salary Range: $110K/annually to $120K/annually SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commodity Manager to join our client?s team. The Commodity Manager will play a pivotal role in obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. This role is responsible for developing, negotiating, and administering highly complex subcontracts and ensuring compliance with supplier costs, schedules, legal, and performance criteria. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ? Select qualified suppliers and manufacturers, developing new supply sources for high-value, long-lead time, and critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or services. ? Act as chairperson of the quotation/proposal evaluation/selection committee and present results for management review. ? Perform material planning duties including lead-time maintenance, analyzing material requirements, and asset management. ? Support concurrent engineering efforts by selecting suppliers for development activities focused on cost-effective, producible, and reliable solutions. ? Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate proposals/quotations from suppliers, ensuring optimal results for the company. ? Develop negotiation strategies based on cost and pricing data; conduct fact-finding investigations and negotiate long-term contracts with key suppliers. ? Plan and lead major contract negotiations, preparing subcontracts, statements of work, supplier data requirement lists, and other contractual documents. ? Conduct supplier site visits to evaluate production capability, performance, and delivery, while supporting or leading supplier certification surveys. ? Administer subcontracts by interpreting and implementing terms and conditions, and developing reporting procedures with subcontractors. ? Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve internal systems and processes and collaborate with key suppliers to drive efficiency. ? Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, trade publications, and professional associations. ? Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations and advise management on necessary actions. ? Serve as a consultant to management on major matters, providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced employees. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field. ? At least 8 years of experience in contract administration or procurement with progressively responsible roles. ? Three years of leadership experience and purchasing management experience preferred. ? Certification in Purchasing Management (CPM) or Contracts Management is desirable. ? Advanced knowledge of material requirements planning, industry practices, and policies. ? Familiarity with government procurement regulations (e.g., DFAR/FAR) is a plus. ? Proficiency in business applications, purchasing systems, and MRP systems (SAP experience is a plus). ? Ability to analyze complex problems and negotiate complicated agreements. ? Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and persuade at all levels. ? Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to innovate and modify standard procedures. ? This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
