Job Description
Assists all levels of engineers with their fabrication and rework tasks and assignments. Able to perform a variety of manufacturing processes, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish a project. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The position is for a prototype fabricator with a focus on research and development.

The three most important skills required are:
? Vertical Mill Operation: The candidate will spend about 60% of their time using a vertical mill.
? Manual Lathe Operation: About 30% of their time will be spent on a manual lathe.
? TIG Welding: Around 10% of their time will be spent on TIG welding. 4 to 6 year experience (Class room experience is not applicable).

? Machining: Operate manual lathes and milling machines to create one-off parts and modify existing parts based on specific requests. Evaluate feasibility and determine the best approach for each task.
? CNC Operation: Utilize a 3-axis CNC for precise machining tasks. Prior experience with CNC machinery is highly desirable.
? Wire EDM: While direct experience with wire EDM is not mandatory, familiarity with the process is beneficial. Support from other team members is available.
? Fabrication: Perform sheet metal work, hand forming, and other fabrication tasks necessary to support test stands and other projects. Adapt to various fabrication challenges with innovative solutions.
? Problem Solving: Apply extensive experience to guide and assist team members and clients who may not have a clear understanding of their requirements. Provide expert advice and solutions.
? Timely Execution: Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and within the required timeframes, maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

? Additional Information: This position requires a highly skilled individual capable of handling diverse and complex tasks with minimal supervision, with flexibility to jump from job to job whilst maintaining
order. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and precision in all aspects of their work.

. Equipment Used:
? The facility has both manual and CNC vertical mills, but the manual mill will be used more frequently.
? The lathe available is manual, not CNC.
? The TIG welder is the primary welding equipment.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
4-6 years of related experience
The ideal candidate should have more experience with vertical mills than lathes.

10+ years of related experience
