We are seeking to hire a Chemist for Food Safety with for our client in Napoleon, OH.
$36.00/Hour

Must be able to operate instrumentation and familiar with EPA regulations. Food experience not required, however must have 3-5 years of experience with the below instrumentation.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all analytical equipment including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS,
LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS. Troubleshoot analytical methods, both procedural and
instrumental. Complying with ISO accreditation.

This position is for a role as a Chemist, Food Safety. BS degree in Chemistry, Forensic or related discipline. Knowledge of analytical equipment is a must. 5+ years experience

A detail oriented, team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. A customer focused decision maker, multitasking with good judgement, competent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, Works with complex instrumentation and data collection tools. Demonstrates excellent work ethics and behaviors with strong sense of ownership and passion for end results. Knowledge of standard multiresidue pesticide methodology, heavy metals testing, allergen testing by Elisa, Acrylamide and Capsaicin. Proficient in GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS. Ability to proactively identify and address concerns or issues that may affect or improve Food Safety, Product Quality, Key Stakeholder and Customer Expectations. The Chemist will have project management ability and be able to take on key projects, i.e., LIMS (Labware), PT program, plant lab assessments and A2LA ISO accreditation. Supervisory responsibilities may include scheduling and reviewing daily work or laboratory technicians, keeping regard to priority samples and scheduled turnaround times.

With minimal direction of the laboratory manager, the Chemist shall have the ability to perform all routine
laboratory analysis pertaining to the Analytical Laboratory. In addition, the Chemist may also
supervise the activities of laboratory technicians and junior chemists. Strong knowledge of all analytical
equipment and procedures and the ability to troubleshoot analytical problems is necessary.

1 (30%) Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all analytical equipment including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS,
LC/MS/MS, LC/QTOF, and ICP/MS. Troubleshoot analytical methods, both procedural and
instrumental. Complying with ISO accreditation.
2 (20%) Identify and quantify components of interest and unknowns with both accuracy and precision.
3 (15%) Participate in analytical proficiency programs and investigate any corrective actions. Complying
with ISO accreditation.
4 (15%) Keep current with new and developing technologies. Design and validate additional analytical
procedures.
5 (10%) Validate and maintain multi-level standard reference solutions.
6 (10%) Ensure compliance with all internal plant, corporate, local, state, and federal regulatory standards
