Weekly Pay! $29.62/Hour Shift Details: 1st Shift Starts at : 05:00AM Ends at : 01:30PM Working Days : Monday - Friday DESCRIPTION: RESPONSIBILITIES: Position Summary: To set up and operate all types of hone, lap and speed lathe equipment with assistance from supervisor. Essential Job Functions: Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. Able to set up and operate various types of honing and lapping equipment. Must have knowledge of the cutting action of various grades of stones, mandrels, shoes and polishing paper and compounds. Must be able to prepare mandrels and to select proper sequence of use to obtain required size and finish. Must have a good understanding of B/P tolerances and finishes. Required Skills and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered. High school diploma or GED, Or knowledge of shop mathematics and 5 + years? experience in aerospace industry. Or a combination of the above, and 5 + years? experience in aerospace industry. Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods and stand to perform work. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally required to lift up to 30 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility. Safety glasses, shop coat/apron, proper shoes. Occasional exposure to shop element such as noise, dust, odors and fumes. Typical Materials, Tools and Equipment Used: Materials worked on: All ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys, fibers and plastics, Materials worked with: Coolants, cutting oils and abrasives, polishing paper, abrasives and compounds. Tools used: Machinist?s hand tools, precision measuring instruments and variety of gages. Equipment used: High and low speed honing machines, all types of flat and cylindrical lapping machines and various types of high-speed polishing lathe equipment. |
