Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist Manager to join our client's manufacturing team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will operate CNC Lathe production machines while ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will bring experience, initiative, and a team-first mindset to help optimize production and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate and set up CNC Lathe machines per established blueprints, sketches, and route sheets.

Perform machining operations such as cutting, shaping, forming, drilling, reaming, deburring, and reworking parts.

Adjust machines for optimal feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to ensure quality output.

Inspect parts using precision instruments (gages, comparators, magnification tools) to meet close tolerance specs.

Perform quality control and surface inspections to remove burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks.

Maintain equipment, ensuring operational cleanliness and accuracy.

Contribute to and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.

Complete documentation, including SPC (Statistical Process Control) as required.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Support team performance and continuous improvement efforts.

Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience required.

Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications.

Proficient in machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.

Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts and their application.

Effective communicator with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable using job-specific software and employee self-service systems.

Able to interpret reports and operate basic computer terminals.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and demonstrate manual dexterity.

May require forklift certification and OSHA safety compliance for operating saw and moving equipment.
