Job Title: Customer Support Engineer (Contract) Location: Onsite ? Irvine, CA Contract Length: 1?2 years (extension possible based on business needs) Work Schedule: 100% Onsite Start Date: ASAP Positions Available: 1?2 (Depending on candidate experience and fit) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Customer Support Engineer to support Failure Analysis Report (FAR) generation for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (GAC) programs including the G650, G500, G600, and G700. This role is critical in supporting electronic component investigations and ensuring accurate technical communication between Parker and GAC. This position requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in electronics/hydraulics and the ability to write technical reports that correlate component-level findings to aircraft-level failures. Key Responsibilities: Create and submit Failure Analysis Reports (FARs) via Seller Engineering Memo (SEM) to GAC for Parker electronic units (REU, MCE) Conduct open box troubleshooting of circuit boards to identify faults Perform thermal and vibration testing using oscilloscopes and other test equipment Write detailed Engineering Investigation Reports to document findings Develop and run troubleshooting tests for existing and emerging product line issues Collaborate with project engineers and customers to prioritize high-impact FARs, especially those affecting AOG (Aircraft on Ground) status Analyze data from R-Card repair systems and interpret test results and failure observations Interface with Materials and Processes lab for component-level testing and analysis Direct test/inspection activities for technicians at Ogden and Dublin repair stations Present engineering findings in approved formats that align with aircraft-level fault data Monitor potential failure trends and flag atypical patterns for follow-up Travel as needed (up to 5 days at a time) to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders Required Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic subcomponents and circuit board troubleshooting Basic understanding of hydraulic systems, EHSV operation, and G650/G500/G600 architecture (on-the-job training provided) Proficiency in interpreting technical data, engineering reports, and lab test findings Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience writing and submitting technical reports or analysis documents Preferred Skills: Prior experience supporting aerospace or flight control systems Familiarity with Parker components (REU, MCE) and FAR investigation process Systems Integration Lab (SIL) test data experience Background working with SEM/FAR processes in a regulated industry Additional Information: This position is 100% onsite in Irvine, CA May require travel to Savannah, Ogden, or Dublin (up to 5 days per trip) Candidate(s) must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple investigations simultaneously |
