Cut-to-Length Machine Operator Shifts: 1st: 5:00 AM ? 3:00 PM 2nd: 5:00 PM ? 3:00 AM Pay Scale: $22.00 ? $26.00 per hour Job Summary The Cut-to-Length Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of the cut-to-length line. This role ensures steel coils are processed to specified lengths and widths while meeting quality standards, safety requirements, and production goals. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate the cut-to-length line per job specifications and work orders. Review work orders and production schedules to determine materials, dimensions, tolerances, and cutting requirements. Adjust machine settings (blade clearances, feed rates, guides) to achieve accurate cuts. Safely load, transport, unload, and stack materials using an Overhead Crane or Forklift. Monitor machine performance, detect issues, and take corrective action or assist with troubleshooting. Measure workpieces with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures to verify specifications. Inspect finished products for defects (chipped edges, marred surfaces, etc.) and sort accordingly. Maintain accurate paperwork for inventory and production records. Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on equipment. Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.
