Weekly Pay! 4 Month Contract Pay Rate - $17/hr 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm Job Description Under supervision performs patient admitting functions which include scheduling and pre--registering patients for radiological procedures. Scheduling Pedi and Adult outpatients and Inpatients when needed. Answering phones (patients, family members, outside offices, doctors, reps, insurance companies and doctors) Scheduling consist of finding a time in RJS, Pre-registering in Meditech, scheduling in Order entry, Scheduling in Community wide (CW), Order module (OR), scheduling exam in RIS in the appropriate resource, adding exam modifiers, filling out 2 areas for patient allergies or precautions, attaching appropriate orders and additional paper work for techs and radiologist to review, include comments and important information pertaining to exam ( Device info, Rep, name of tech who approved exam, name of person who gave order from ordering doctor's office or patient). Faxes out pediatric sedate and adult anesthesia list daily. Scheduling implant device patients that includes obtaining device information, MRJ clearance forms, and schedule with manufacturer representative. Scheduling of walk-in patients. Scheduling of invasive procedures (biopsy, ablation, sclerotherapy into OR Module. Invasive procedures must be protocoled by a radiologist before scheduling. This includes obtaining previous imaging, reports, and labs Essential Job Functions 1. Responsible for pediatric and adult order books each day for registration. The book contents are : Orders, precert, reports, questionnaires, protocol sheets and tracking form with department name and number. 2. Precert to insure correct procedure is ordered. 3. Coordinate and arrange specific exams with the Radiologist. 4. Verify lab specific exams and confirm orders for lab 5. Understand the variable factors for MRI (height/weight, sedation/anesthesia, implants, metal, type of exam 6. MRI Cardiac exams must be protocoled by a radiologist. Understand the variables that determine what scans ban done on which scanner. 7. Takes requests for exams from physician offices, outside facilities including sister hospitals and rehab facilities. Give instructions regarding an escort, registration and department location. Then utilizing scheduling module; obtains accurate information on physician orders, pre-certifications and insurance plans, and enters the information into an appropriate system. Answer phones, primordial chat, WebEx communications and calls from Doctors for Radiologists. 8. Coordinates procedures for Radiologists, Anestheslogist, Vendor Reps and patients. Responsible for calling on-call teams for emergent cases after hours including weekdays and weekends. 9. Informs patients or the physician office staff about any procedure requirements such as preps and signed order by physician. Acquires MRI safety and patient implanted device and setting forms as well as coordinating with MRI Implant vendor availability/scheduling. 10. Coordinates scheduling exams requiring anesthesia or sedation with Anesthesia Group and tech and setup from OR for the anesthesiologist to ensure the availability of staff and equipment 11. Registers patients for services: obtains required authorizations, demographic and financial information for the patient's medical and business office records and entering the information online. Will have patients fill out questionnaires appropriate to exam to be done Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Having achieved a satisfactory level of knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and patient accounting systems and procedures; knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems, and medical terminology; skill in proficient use of PC applications; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise. Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.
