Associate Architect | New York, NY

Position Overview-

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Architect to support Real Estate ? Project Planning & Development (PPD) initiatives across our portfolio. This role will contribute to capital projects, administration of the corporate furniture program (XM1), and space assessments, while ensuring the consistent application of architectural standards, corporate guidelines, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of creative, technical, and analytical thinking, along with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play a key role in maintaining high design standards at optimal value, supporting operational efficiency, employee productivity, morale, and positive public impact.

Key Responsibilities

Review, create, and develop architectural design solutions aligned with company priorities including safety, operational excellence, customer experience, and cost control.

Ensure all project plans conform to applicable NYS and NYC building codes, including:

Energy Conservation Code

NYC Local Laws

FDNY regulations

NYC Department of Buildings requirements

ADA Guidelines and other applicable legal regulations

Prepare project scope documents and reports by collecting, analyzing, surveying, and summarizing data, trends, and site conditions.

Present architectural designs to Manager and Real Estate Director; incorporate required design and cost revisions.

Perform cost-benefit analyses and prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules, and related documentation.

Apply knowledge of ergonomics to optimize workspace functionality and employee experience.

Maintain and review architectural design documentation within the company?s drawings repository system.

Coordinate closely with the Manager, internal stakeholders, engineers, planners, and consultants.

Direct, peer-check, and review work of architects, designers, engineers, and external consultants.

Resolve, approve, or implement field design changes as required.

Support Corporate Standards review and compliance efforts.

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

Bachelor?s Degree in Architecture.

Proficiency in CAD.

Experience applying architectural and/or engineering principles in design and project execution.

Experience in construction administration and/or project management.

Demonstrated experience preparing budgets, project estimates, and schedules.

Strong analytical ability with a balance of creative and technical thinking.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

Valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle.

Experience with Maximo.

Experience in space management and planning.
