JOB Description:

An Associate in a protein purification group within the Substance Process Development department will be responsible for coordinating equipment cleaning, transfer, and post-transfer functional testing activities associated with a laboratory move and start-up.
This will involve bench scale purification equipment operation and coordination with representatives from environmental health and safety, information systems and laboratory asset management functions.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with the operation of laboratory purification equipment, along with compliance in a regulated environment. The candidate will work in a team environment, collaborating with various purification staff and supporting functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SCIENTIFIC/TECHNICAL
Equipment cleaning and decommissioning prior to movements
Coordination of equipment transfers to minimize impact to ongoing laboratory work
Equipment commissioning and functional testing after movements

TEAM EXPERIENCE
Participates in team efforts to maintain functional operations in a regulated environment

ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
Documents cleaning, equipment decommissioning and equipment functional testing
Collaborates with supporting functions and laboratory staff to schedule and implement activities

SUPERVISING OTHERS
Ensures that safe laboratory practices are followed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor?s degree & 0+ years of scientific or engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in the operation of GE AKTA chromatography (Avant and Explorer) along with GE AKTA filtration (Crossflow) systems
Experience with common laboratory asset management/documentation systems. BD04123JD
