Test Technician | 1st Shift | $20.50/HR Position Summary- The Manufacturing Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling and testing products to meet customer quality standards and on-time delivery commitments. This role works in a structured manufacturing environment and performs routine assignments under direct supervisory guidance while contributing to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Essential Responsibilities- Accurately assemble and test mechanical and/or electronic products in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements. Perform basic assembly and test functions using mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement devices. Conduct first-stage subassembly, lock wiring, final detailing, and routine test operations requiring limited judgment. Interpret and follow blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives. Record test results and production data on standard forms using basic electrical test equipment and flow meters. Produce, inspect, and verify assemblies to ensure conformance with customer, internal, and industry standards. Perform touch-up or full surface painting of parts using finishing materials such as paint, lacquer, or glaze, including paint mixing and part preparation/cleaning. Ensure all tools, gauges, and equipment are properly calibrated and used in accordance with established calibration schedules. Actively participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and foreign object damage (FOD)?free work environment while strictly adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Required Qualifications- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written work instructions. Ability to perform basic shop math calculations. Basic computer proficiency for data entry and documentation. Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience, including hands-on assembly work. Familiarity with manufacturing tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment. Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and follow established procedures. Preferred Qualifications- Postsecondary education, preferably in Electronics Technology or a related technical field. Previous soldering experience. Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment. Work Environment Manufacturing and production floor environment. Use of hand tools, power tools, electronic/mechanical test equipment, and finishing materials. Compliance with safety regulations and quality standards is required at all times. | |
