Pay Rate - $21/hr 1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm Job Description The Molding Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of injection molding machines used in the production of high-quality orthodontic medical devices. This role ensures that molded components meet stringent quality, regulatory, and safety standards in accordance with company and industry guidelines (including FDA and ISO 13485 requirements). ? Set up and operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment according to production schedules and work instructions. ? Perform machine changeovers, including mold changes, material loading, and parameter adjustments. ? Monitor molding processes, troubleshoot minor issues, and make process adjustments to maintain product quality. ? Inspect molded parts for conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection methods. ? Document production data, machine settings, and process deviations accurately and in a timely manner. ? Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. ? Work closely with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve product nonconformities or process inefficiencies. ? Follow all safety guidelines, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and cleanroom protocols. ? Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing practices. ? Train new team members on molding processes and safety procedures as needed. Who You Are - Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in plastics or manufacturing preferred. Years and Type of Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in injection molding, preferably in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment. Key Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities: ? Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes. ? Familiarity with various thermoplastics and mold types used in medical device manufacturing. ? Ability to interpret technical drawings, production schedules, and work instructions. ? Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operation. ? Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. ? Exposure to moderate noise, machinery, and production chemicals (with appropriate safeguards). ? May be required to work overtime or weekends depending on production needs. Environmental Requirements May be required to wear PPE when performing certain tasks. Work is generally performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
