*This position is 2nd shift*

Position Summary-
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong lathe, mill-turn, and live tooling experience to support precision manufacturing operations on 2nd shift. This role requires hands-on expertise working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets while machining to close tolerances. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing CNC setups, inspections, and adjustments, and actively contributes to lean manufacturing initiatives.

Hitachi Seiki VS50 ? CNC Mill

Nakamura-Tome CNC Machines

Bridgeport ? Manual Mill/Lathe

Key Responsibilities-
Set up and operate CNC lathe and mill-turn production machines using established processes and tooling.

Perform machining operations including cutting, shaping, drilling, reaming, deburring, and rework.

Execute secondary operations such as tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.

Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

Align and secure workpieces using standard fixtures and approved methods.

Inspect parts using precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and comparators.

Utilize magnification equipment to inspect critical features and surface integrity.

Perform SPC activities accurately and consistently.

Maintain machines and work areas to required cleanliness, accuracy, and safety standards.

Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for productivity and cost improvement.

Comply with all safety policies and company procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications-
2+ years of CNC machining experience in a production environment.

Proven experience with CNC lathe and mill-turn machines (live tooling preferred).

Strong blueprint reading and GD&T comprehension.

Experience performing CNC setups on production equipment.

Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.

Experience machining raw castings preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficiency using job-specific software, automated systems, and standard computer applications.

Ability to meet OSHA safety requirements; forklift certification a plus.

Management Experience (Preferred)

Prior experience managing or leading a machine shop environment.

Experience supervising machinists or production staff.

Ability to support scheduling, workflow coordination, and performance development.

Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity required for machine operation and inspection tasks.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
