Position Summary-
The Senior Systems Engineer provides technical leadership and subject-matter expertise within the systems engineering discipline for aerospace programs. This role leads and executes complex systems engineering initiatives that drive the development and integration of new technologies, products, and processes. The position has broad impact across product lines, customers, and strategic business objectives, and plays a key role in solving unique, high-complexity technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities-
Serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on complex system designs, customer issues, and technology development initiatives.

Lead internal and customer-facing design reviews; define and apply advanced problem-solving methodologies and analytical approaches.

Perform end-to-end requirements development and management, including elicitation, analysis, validation, and communication of customer needs. Decompose system requirements into product, component, and interface requirements while maintaining bidirectional traceability throughout the lifecycle.

Conduct system analyses, trade studies, and functional performance testing in support of new designs, materials, methods, equipment, or processes. Ensure accurate documentation, publication of results, and compliance with program requirements.

Compile, analyze, and interpret operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for new or modified aerospace systems and products.

Assess feasibility and technical soundness of proposed designs, test plans, and evaluation methods when data are limited or validation through testing is required.

Research, evaluate, and operationalize emerging technologies to improve cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability using advanced engineering theories and design techniques.

Prepare and deliver technical proposals and presentations to internal leadership and customers, influencing program and business decisions.

Protect company intellectual property and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.

Act as a consultant to management on technical and project-related matters; serve as a functional expert within systems engineering.

Identify mentoring and development needs within the team and actively mentor less-experienced engineers.

Maintain advanced technical expertise through continuous learning, participation in professional organizations, benchmarking, and review of industry publications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or a Professional Engineer (PE) license; Master?s degree (MS) preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive systems engineering experience in an aerospace environment; experience with thermal systems is strongly preferred.

Advanced knowledge of aerospace systems engineering principles, industry best practices, and applicable government regulations and standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.

Demonstrated ability to research, develop, integrate, and deploy new technologies within formal development programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to executive leadership, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Ability to integrate and apply knowledge from related engineering disciplines to drive system-level solutions.

Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, with hands-on experience using tools such as Cameo on formal development programs.

Proficiency with specialized engineering design, modeling, and data analysis tools.

Proven ability to define, track, and achieve performance goals on complex or large-scale projects, providing technical direction at key milestones.

Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, and internal technical teams.
