Job Title: Industrial Cook (Food Production) Company: Jessie Lord Bakery Location: Torrance, California (ZIP 90501) Pay: $19.00 ? $21.00 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Must be available for 1st or 2nd shift, including overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed. Job Summary: Jessie Lord Bakery is seeking a reliable Industrial Cook to support food production operations. This position is responsible for cooking and mixing large batches of pie fillings using industrial kettles, ensuring product quality, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities: ? Set up and safely operate industrial kettles and cooking equipment ? Prepare large batches of pie fillings following recipes and batch sheets ? Review formulas and ensure accurate ingredient measurements ? Receive, verify, and record ingredient lot numbers and quantities ? Use a sit-down forklift or pallet jack to pull ingredients as needed ? Monitor and record filling temperatures during cooking and cooling processes ? Maintain cleanliness and perform sanitation of cook room equipment ? Complete required production paperwork and material usage reports ? Work closely with QA, warehouse staff, and supervisors ? Report equipment issues promptly to prevent downtime or safety risks ? Train and assist cook helpers when needed Requirements: ? Sit-down forklift certification preferred ? Experience with industrial cooking equipment (kettles) ? Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English and/or Spanish ? Ability to work in a loud production environment (hearing protection required) ? Slip-resistant shoes required ? Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime when needed Food Safety & Compliance: ? Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols ? Report and assist in resolving any food safety issues immediately ? Maintain sanitation and safety standards at all times ?
