Summary: The Receiving Associate ensures incoming goods are received, inspected, and stored in alignment with the company's high standards. Essential Job Functions: ? Purchase Order Verification: Vigilantly inspect incoming purchase orders for accuracy. Recognize that a sign-off signifies a financial obligation and is instrumental in preventing any discrepancies with suppliers. ? Inbound Material Inspection: Ensure that all incoming materials align accurately with the company's open purchase orders and the suppliers' packing slips. Confirm the material's condition and correctness. Log any defective, inaccurate, or non-compliant material appropriately using the Discrepancy Center. ? System Integration and Storage: Once verified, all inbound sellable material that meets specifications and quantity requirements should be promptly and accurately recorded in the system. Materials should then be specifically bin-located to a deposit cone bin for WMS put-away or sent to the item's primary bin. ? Use of Color-Coded Cones: Employ the inbound color-coded cone system for easy identification: o RED: Material not yet inspected. o YELLOW: Material has been inspected and counted but not yet recorded in the system. o GREEN: Material has been entered into the system and is ready for put-away. ? Inventory Management: Oversee the process from the reception of goods to storage. Ensure goods are properly classified using the specified color-coded system and manage Direct-Through-Stock (DTS) materials as per company guidelines. ? Supplier Engagement: Foster a rapport with suppliers that emphasizes reliability and timeliness. Address any inbound errors or delays promptly, and liaise with procurement to maintain quality assurance. ?Procedure Adherence: Ensure all receiving operations are consistent with company standard operating procedures. Team Leadership: Lead the receiving team, focusing on mentoring, skill development, and maintaining collaboration with HR for optimal personnel management. ? Operational Refinement: Continuously assess and improve the receiving processes, making use of tools like P21 software. Emphasize the importance of safety and policy adherence. ? Industry Awareness: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advocate for consistent learning and adaptation. ? Perform other duties assigned ? Work mandatory overtime as needed Qualifications: ? Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a warehouse setting. ? Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Construction or Electrical Supply sectors is a plus. ? Skills: Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain processes.
