Mechanical Engineering Technician II
Location: On-site, Brea, CA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM (2nd Shift)
Pay Range: $29 to $36 per hour (Final rate determined at time of offer)
Interview Process: Phone Interview and then In-person interviews with the hiring manager
Note: Submittal rate is not guaranteed and will be determined after the interview.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician II to join our clients on-site team in Brea, CA. In this role, you will support engineering and product development teams by performing technical testing, collecting and analyzing data, building prototypes, supporting equipment qualifications, and contributing to mechanical and laboratory operations. This position involves close collaboration with supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Gather, maintain, format, and analyze technical data, including mechanical test results, material testing outputs, and engineering design updates.
Create engineering documentation such as reports, flow charts, schematics, and block diagrams.
Prepare technical summaries and perform quantitative analyses.
Provide hands-on technical support to engineers across multiple mechanical and lab-related tasks.
Assist in scoping, selecting, and qualifying equipment for project use.
Support general lab operations, including equipment calibration, safety compliance, and routine maintenance.
Identify and report any factors that may impact project timelines or performance.
Assist in developing prototype mechanical processes and test setups.
Execute mechanical and product test protocols with accuracy and consistency.
Document test results thoroughly and communicate findings effectively.
Safely handle test samples, materials, chemicals, and equipment used in conditioning and testing.

Required Qualifications
Minimum:
High school diploma
4 to 6 years of experience in a laboratory or regulated environment OR equivalent technician experience
Experience following written procedures and working collaboratively within a team
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in a technical or engineering-related field
1 to 2 years of experience in an R&D, engineering, or laboratory environment

Preferred Skills & Experience
Ability to understand, follow, and execute detailed mechanical and test procedures
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to develop solutions to routine mechanical or technical problems
Proficiency with personal computers and standard software tools
Ability to train and mentor junior technicians
